The crowd rose to their feet as Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 18th minute of play forced Scarlet Speedster's goalkeeper Naldo Proença to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Quirino made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. 34 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Scarlet Speedster's Naldo Proença. Naldo Proença was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Mendonça in the 40th minute of the match. Fausto Mendonça hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the game, Colombia's Axel Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Naldo Proença made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascual Carballar got free with Naldo Proença in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Luis Cazalla got a free kick in the 79th minute. When Fausto Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Scarlet Speedster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Mendonça in the 88th minute of play. The throw-in from Luis Cazalla in the 89th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Scarlet Speedster's Ryszard Janiczek. Fausto Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarlet Speedster. Fausto Mendonça's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Luis Cazalla threw the ball into play from the sideline. Scarlet Speedster's Ryszard Janiczek quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raigo Vananurm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chants of Colombia echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Scarlet Speedster had held the ball for most of the match.
