Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisão Linares's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Téo Silva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berbiz Ortiz in the 16th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gualter Pitta took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Pereiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Téo Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes Pereiras FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Téo Silva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Téo Silva. Téo Silva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Téo Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Pereiras FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Mexico's Macos Graciani to fire away a dangerous shot which Téo Silva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Berbiz Ortiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Cadaval to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão Linares in the 44th minute of play. Luisão Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tekin Ergalip during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mexico booed when Pereiras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tekin Ergalip didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 54th minute, Lautaro Mancebo made a precise shot to the right of Téo Silva. Pereiras FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. In the 58th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Téo Silva was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Pereiras FC made a substitution. Arman Melander replaced Tekin Ergalip. 63 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Téo Silva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleksi Puhakainen in the 64th minute of play. After 71 minutes, Berbiz Ortiz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pereiras FC and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Berbiz Ortiz hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. A collision led to Pereiras FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Berbiz Ortiz hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aleksi Puhakainen, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Téo Silva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 77th minute. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Téo Silva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Joel Gaona succeeded in the game's 78th minute to get real power on a long shot . Pereiras FC's Téo Silva hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 1-7! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Maia in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Téo Silva firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 89th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pereiras FC's Téo Silva did a great save. 93 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksi Puhakainen came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
