The crowd rose to their feet as Cura del Futbol's Alfred Pawelczyk slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfred Pawelczyk in the 68th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Uruguay fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when Uruguay's Francisco Seco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cura del Futbol booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Sainz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Alfred Pawelczyk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cura del Futbol's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfred Pawelczyk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute of the match Cura del Futbol got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bonifacio Loramendi ran over to the corner to take the kick. 89 minutes into the match, Cura del Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Eriberto Erlantz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cura del Futbol could leave the field as winners, despite Uruguay having more of the ball for most of the match.
