Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. Modesto Lehen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Modesto Lehen in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Leo Pangsepp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leo Pangsepp's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, David Llanos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Pangsepp in the 19th minute of the match. When Social y Dep. Patagonia's Leo Pangsepp in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Social y Dep. Patagonia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Leo Pangsepp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 28th minute, Leo Pangsepp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 32nd minute, Leo Pangsepp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. After 35 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. 36 minutes into the match, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Leo Pangsepp sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Leo Pangsepp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leo Pangsepp went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Arnaldo Bastia might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnaldo Bastia ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half Social y Dep. Patagonia were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leo Pangsepp made a kick off. Leo Pangsepp scored 0-8 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Pangsepp in the 56th minute of play. Alexander Carballo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 58 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Pangsepp came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Leo Pangsepp came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Social y Dep. Patagonia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leo Pangsepp couldn't finish the play. Social y Dep. Patagonia made a substitution. Lázaro Gau replaced Anastasio Jaen. Severo Laurgain struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Social y Dep. Patagonia. With an all-out effort, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Severo Laurgain, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Laurgain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute, Severo Laurgain made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Severo Laurgain got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 0-12. Tobias Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Severo Laurgain might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severo Laurgain ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Severo Laurgain tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th minute, Severo Laurgain left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Social y Dep. Patagonia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-13. In the 95th match minute, Social y Dep. Patagonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolo Enaut to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Social y Dep. Patagonia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Costa Rica throughout the match.
