Luís Eduardo Fontes charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Eduardo Fontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute of the match Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vinícius Olgado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Andi Jovanović had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Tales Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olgado™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Tales Massa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcinho Paes scored 2-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Andi Jovanović stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Andi Jovanović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo Gómez kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andi Jovanović was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andi Jovanović in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tales Massa was slow to take the kick. During this time Olgado™'s players had a chance to rest. 56 minutes into the match, Olgado™'s Andi Jovanović sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th match minute, Olgado™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Domingues to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Vinícius Olgado made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 72nd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Andi Jovanović came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vinícius Olgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germán Cano in the 86th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Germán Cano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Patricio Costa's late challenge caught a Olgado™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Costa helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Olgado™ booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andi Jovanović in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vinícius Olgado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Olgado™ had played much better football throughout.
