Rüştü Rencber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 8 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rüştü Rencber narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. Gökay Ömür might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gökay Ömür ran back to his position shaking his head. Rüştü Rencber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rüştü Rencber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play forced Valar morghulis's goalkeeper Rüştü Rencber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ecuador's Felix Montenegro in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Ahmet Nedim Ertaş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rüştü Rencber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ahmet Nedim Ertaş to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Nedim Ertaş in the 58th minute of the match. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gökay Ömür was slow to take the kick. During this time Valar morghulis's players had a chance to rest. Valar morghulis's Gökay Ömür was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ahmet Nedim Ertaş received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Rüştü Rencber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Halit Fahri Sayın kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Daniel Zorita in the 68th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Rüştü Rencber's left hand side. In the 74th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ahmet Nedim Ertaş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Valar morghulis's Rüştü Rencber got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rüştü Rencber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Valar morghulis's Witold Zbydniewski got a free kick in the 89th minute. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Valar morghulis throughout the match.
