Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisão Linares to make the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Maia in the 77th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Lacasa scored 2-1 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Téo Silva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
