Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Delfim Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Delfim Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Inter de Melão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráuzio Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Inter de Melão getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Dráuzio Mesquita hit a great ball. Delfim Paraense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudio-Paul Taffarel was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Eliseo Noboa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliseo Noboa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Lautaro Puig's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Farias came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 24 minutes into the game, when Hugo Ferrant put in a rough tackle. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Falcão Dias in the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Falcão Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 33 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Maurinho Vergílio. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Puig got free with Claudio-Paul Taffarel in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Gonçalo Mazza charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gonçalo Mazza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Mazza. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eliseo Noboa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Delfim Paraense in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Dráuzio Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 55 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. If Tobias Zachrisson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Puig in the 61st minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tobias Zachrisson went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After 72 minutes of play, Inter de Melão's Fabinho Valladares made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Falcão Dias came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Delfim Paraense scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 2-4. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gonçalo Mazza got his second yellow card in the match during the 87th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball.
