With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudio-Paul Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 13th minute Honduras were awarded a corner. Edmundo Espiga went to the cornerflag to take it. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Farias, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 18thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 19th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio-Paul Taffarel saved Inter de Melão from getting behind. Luca Espinar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Paraense in the 29th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio-Paul Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Inter de Melão defense, Sebastian Villa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudio-Paul Taffarel. The Inter de Melão fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudio-Paul Taffarel should have stopped the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Villa. Tobias Zachrisson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 40th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delfim Paraense during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. Claudio-Paul Taffarel came out of the goal and Luca Espinar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Farias in the 61st minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Villa. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Claudio-Paul Taffarel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 68th minute of play. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Farias in the 70th minute of play. With his leg Claudio-Paul Taffarel managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 79 minutes of play, Inter de Melão's Delfim Paraense made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 82 minutes into the match, Edmundo Espiga dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Claudio-Paul Taffarel, 1-2. In the 85th minute Delfim Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel got control of the ball when Luca Espinar tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 88th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 91st minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Edmundo Espiga could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Claudio-Paul Taffarel however easily saved by the left post. The Inter de Melão fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
