After 3 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Navarro. The crowd rose to their feet as Lino Guerrero kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. A collision led to Cobos getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Fabricio Bernat hit a great ball. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrick Lidman's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Patrick Lidman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stelian Apostol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 23rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Lino Guerrero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Lino Guerrero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cobos's supporters rose to their feet, but Lino Guerrero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edmundo Espiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stelian Apostol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Edmundo Espiga ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Lino Guerrero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Lino Guerrero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 65 minutes into the match, Cobos's goalkeeper Stelian Apostol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luca Espinar. Luca Espinars short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Stelian Apostol to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
