Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lino Guerrero started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lino Guerrero. In the 3rd minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 4th minute by Lino Guerrero got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Cobos booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alan Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner led Cobos's Ambrosio Fliz to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 20 minutes, Hugo Dodorol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cobos and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Cobos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Dodorol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a Cobos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the game, Leonel Chesus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lino Guerrero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. After 34 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. 37 minutes into the game, Leonel Chesus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Cobos getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Wilfredo Arnas hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Lino Guerrero sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Cobos's Leonel Chesus slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 4-0 after 47 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stelian Apostol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Lino Guerrero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cobos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Lino Guerrero sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 61st minute of play forced Cobos's goalkeeper Stelian Apostol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Cobos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Axel Tasis took the corner. Axel Tasis made a great header on Costa Rica's corner, it was just that Cobos's Stelian Apostol managed to reach the ball for a save. Leonel Chesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Lino Guerrero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lino Guerrero took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Leonel Chesus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Guerrero came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Leonel Chesus made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0.
