La Pachorra LSF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Gilen in the 25th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Zethos Vrotsos in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to La Pachorra LSF getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Luís Fernando Brasil hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zethos Vrotsos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Magnus Kübler made in the 41st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Teodoro Gilen. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
