After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Iker Mendiko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pity 31's supporters rose to their feet, but Iker Mendiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Cotilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clemente Fliz. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Makis Kasmiris, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Clemente Fliz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iker Mendiko in the 19th minute of play. After 21 played minutes Pity 31 got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Costacurta. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Clemente Fliz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute Iker Mendiko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clemente Fliz in the 29th minute. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iker Mendiko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pity 31's attack was well implemented in the 30th minute, but when Iker Mendiko was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After 31 played minutes Pity 31 got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Fliz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leon Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leon Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pity 31 the free kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Makis Kasmiris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Cambeiro hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. When Iker Mendiko came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Pity 31 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iker Mendiko couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Sarmiento got free with Leon Santos in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the game, Isidoro Sarmiento cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Leon Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 70 minutes into the match, Iker Mendiko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iker Mendiko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Fliz in the 89th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Sarmiento got free with Leon Santos in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Pity 31 had played much better football throughout.
