After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Aytek Subahi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Endura Abechuco struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Chupeño. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Chupeño's Palmiro Noronha got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 67 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aytek Subahi. Sportivo Chupeño's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 70th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aytek Subahi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sportivo Chupeño's Aytek Subahi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 71st minute of play. After 72 minutes, Michel Abadie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sportivo Chupeño and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Chupeño's Faro Abecia got a free kick in the 75th minute. Sportivo Chupeño's Tino Abeijon was substituted for Endura Abechuco. A collision led to Sportivo Chupeño getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Aytek Subahi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute.
