The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind ✞ Fëntanilo! ツ's goalkeeper Godfredo Bento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 7 minutes into the match, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Godfredo Bento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Baldomero Sugoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Godfredo Bento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. ✞ Fëntanilo! ツ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paulino Ponc in the 22nd minute. Diego Armando Giunta hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Godfredo Bento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godfredo Bento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo, in the 26th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Godfredo Bento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33rd play minutes Anier Colas shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Dante Lacasa and just under the crossbar into goal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomero Sugoi in the 37th minute of play. ✞ Fëntanilo! ツ's Diego Armando Giunta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonardo Leoz in the 39 minute of the game. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anier Colas went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. ✞ Fëntanilo! ツ made a substitution. Angelino Elivareo replaced Ismael Luix. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Godfredo Bento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Godfredo Bento was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 58 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tafalla. In the 59th minute of the match Joga Bonito shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Colas in the 66th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 68thth minute, Godfredo Bento skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Colas in the 75th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godfredo Bento having to interfere. ✞ Fëntanilo! ツ's Raul Senon was substituted for Paulo Domingues. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomero Sugoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelino Elivareo in the 91st minute of play. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
