Tomas Berganza started the match with the kick off. Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Cambeiro in the 10th minute of the match. Klaus Meine kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Tomas Berganza sped through Inter de Melão's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Claudio-Paul Taffarel. 18 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudio-Paul Taffarel. Inter de Melão's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Berganza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Alex Cambeiro made a great header on Panama's corner, it was just that Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Paraense in the 24th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th match minute, Inter de Melão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaus Meine to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th match minute, Inter de Melão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráuzio Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 47th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Delfim Paraense made a kick off. After 51 minutes of play, Panama's Tomas Berganza made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudio-Paul Taffarel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Felipe Ros's late challenge caught a Inter de Melão's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felipe Ros helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 54th minute. Matthew Garrido kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Paraense came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute Fabinho Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Inter de Melão's Fabinho Valladares in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panama's goalie prevented a goal. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Panama's Tomas Berganza in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a little luck, Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel got control of the ball when Isidoro Sarmiento tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aaron Barrios hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Inter de Melão's Delfim Paraense tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Inter de Melão's Claudio-Paul Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 75th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Inter de Melão's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidoro Sarmiento took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudio-Paul Taffarel. Claudio-Paul Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 88th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Dylan Sarmiento. After 91 played minutes Inter de Melão got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Pernambucano. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Panama played a much better game than Inter de Melão and deserved their victory. The Inter de Melão players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
