Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Delfim Paraense started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 5th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Delfim Paraense capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Delfim Paraense really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 10th minute, Fabinho Valladares reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 16th minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Inter de Melão getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Klaus Meine hit a great ball. Eliseo Noboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudio-Paul Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Noboa ran back to his position shaking his head. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Claudio-Paul Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Falcão Dias in the 33rd minute of play. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernesto Farias kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Falcão Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho Valladares in the 53rd minute of play. The Inter de Melão fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Inter de Melão's Fabinho Valladares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 63 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter de Melão the free kick. In the 66th minute Falcão Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Tasis got free with Claudio-Paul Taffarel in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th match minute, Inter de Melão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Mazza to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Axel Tasis in the 69th minute really tested Claudio-Paul Taffarel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Claudio-Paul Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Paraense in the 73rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Paraense in the 81st minute of play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Zachrisson, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 84 minutes into the game, Tobias Zachrisson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Tobias Zachrisson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 94th minute.
