Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Escribano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Gilabert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Denis Gipuzkoa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 34th minute. In the 67th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Gipuzkoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Cazalla struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Denis Gipuzkoa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. The referee ignored ARLO FC's protests and gave Eric Cantona a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Uruguay booed when ARLO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Cantona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximiliano Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
