After having played for 76 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. 93 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serbülent Baysan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but FC Anderlecht Huachipato were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
