An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 23rd minute of play forced ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Clemente Savier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 25th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Clemente Savier quite easily take care of the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Salas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute of the match, Ubarna Marcos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dante Lacasa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 35th minute, Gerard Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Clemente Savier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Ma Zheng Yuan got a free kick in the 37th minute. Clemente Savier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ma Zheng Yuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Elias Figueroa got a free kick in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 48th minute of play forced ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcelo Salas to make the kick off. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Clemente Savier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ from getting a goal against them. In the 53rd minute of the match Mexico got a corner. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Alberto Tafalla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Clemente Savier. That made the score 0-1 in the 54 minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 邓城潮, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Clemente Savier successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Facundo Cadaval hit a great ball. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Rodrigo Barrera was substituted for 邓城潮. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Cristopher Damian was substituted for Marcelo Salas. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Edilberto Bustillos kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. When Cristopher Damian fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s protests and gave Cristopher Damian a yellow card for diving instead. Cristopher Damian hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Clemente Savier made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Savier came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrigo Barrera in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Rodrigo Barrera put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dante Lacasa. Rodrigo Barrera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristopher Damian in the 90th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Savier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Lautaro Mancebo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristopher Damian in the 96th minute of the match. Mexico were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ to leave the ground with a draw.
