Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 10th minute by Roland Davenport got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 12th minute, Ian Chung made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 15 minutes into the match, Lake Wales FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Rinto Kalla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lake Wales FC's Rinto Kalla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Garth Wray hit a great ball. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Lake Wales FC's Ian Chung fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Lake Wales FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garth Wray didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Lake Wales FC's Rinto Kalla. Rinto Kalla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
