With a little luck, FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 曾钢宁 in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that 曾钢宁's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Mircea Calboreanu made a huge save. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC U Cluj-N's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Mariano Lacasa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mircea Calboreanu quite easily take care of the ball. After 31 minutes, Filip Trifan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC U Cluj-N and the Chile players grew even worse after the yellow card. Xavier Figueroa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mircea Calboreanu having to interfere. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Florescu in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Filip Trifan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute 曾钢宁 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mircea Calboreanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 41st minute of play. FC U Cluj-N's 曾钢宁 got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cosmin Potocianu replaced A.J. Teleagă. Mircea Calboreanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute of the match Chile got a corner. FC U Cluj-N's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mihai Lăzăroiu in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Thiago Pliego stood somewhat misplaced when Mihai Lăzăroiu came free in front of goal and shot 4-3 to the left of him in the 93 minute. Chile's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
