Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Salas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes in the game, Mariano Lacasa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Clemente Savier having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 11th minute of play forced ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chile's attentive Felix Garrido managed to snatch the ball when Ma Zheng Yuan made a throw-in in the 16th minute of the game. Mariano Lacasa took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Clemente Savier. Clemente Savier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Salas came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th match minute, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Barrera to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Marcelo Salas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Salas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Salas in the 34th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Salas in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Ma Zheng Yuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Clemente Savier got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Clemente Savier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 53rd minute of play. Marcelo Salas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ made a substitution. Edilberto Bustillos replaced Roger Lantadilla. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ made a substitution. Ubarna Marcos replaced Rodrigo Barrera. Gerard Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clemente Savier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristopher Damian in the 79th minute of play. Marcelo Salas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristopher Damian received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Thiago Pliego came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristopher Damian slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 87th minute. In the 92nd minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Savier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ to leave the ground with a draw.
