After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Vladislav Hampejs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Vladislav Hampejs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Tyge Oehlerich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute of the match, Vladislav Hampejs tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Marcel Militaru made a great header on Pheonix FC's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 35th minute. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Pheonix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Tyge Oehlerich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Pheonix FC defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tyge Oehlerich. The Pheonix FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tyge Oehlerich should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vladislav Hampejs in the 44th minute. Marcel Militaru kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Pheonix FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladislav Hampejs didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vladislav Hampejs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafik Zoheir Zerara in the 55th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Tyge Oehlerich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Vladislav Hampejs came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Vladislav Hampejs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafik Zoheir Zerara, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Pheonix FC's Tyge Oehlerich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Pheonix FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladislav Hampejs in the 69th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vladislav Hampejs in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladislav Hampejs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladislav Hampejs in the 74th minute of play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Pheonix FC's goalkeeper Tyge Oehlerich, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tyge Oehlerich read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Tyge Oehlerich made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Militaru in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was a well-played corner which Vladislav Hampejs managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
