Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sagrario Paniagua having to interfere. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Tamajon in the 9th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in CD Municipal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! CD Municipal:s Sagrario Paniagua showed great skill when he stopped Abraham Alguacil:s penalty. 16 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Tamajon came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the CD Municipal defense, Tomas Berganza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sagrario Paniagua. The CD Municipal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sagrario Paniagua should have stopped the shot. Sagrario Paniagua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Alguacil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, CD Municipal's Marcelo Bojorquez got a free kick in the 22nd minute. CD Municipal's Sagrario Paniagua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 24th minute of play. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 26 minutes into the match, Panama's Abraham Alguacil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sagrario Paniagua narrowly saved just below the crossbar. CD Municipal's Sagrario Paniagua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 28th minute of play. After 33 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Sarmiento. When Montxo Avecilla fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Municipal's protests and gave Montxo Avecilla a yellow card for diving instead. Panama's Alberto Sainz was substituted for Aaron Barrios. After 40 played minutes CD Municipal got a freekick which was hit by Montxo Avecilla. After a rather tough play, CD Municipal's Gaztea Rubin got a free kick in the 42nd minute. A collision led to CD Municipal getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Orland Urria hit a great ball. When Xan Revillas fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Municipal's protests and gave Xan Revillas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th minute, Xan Revillas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Berganza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sagrario Paniagua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Miralles, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Miguel Miralles made a great header on Panama's corner, it was just that CD Municipal's Sagrario Paniagua managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Panama's Dylan Sarmiento got a free kick in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Kemen Zalon came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Abraham Alguacil fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sagrario Paniagua, passed just outside the right post. 64 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sagrario Paniagua. Tomas Berganza showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. CD Municipal's Sagrario Paniagua proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save CD Municipal from getting a goal against them. Mambru Entrala hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sagrario Paniagua prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miguel Miralles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sagrario Paniagua having to interfere. If Isidoro Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Cambeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, CD Municipal's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Sagrario Paniagua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidoro Sarmiento struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Sagrario Paniagua didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. With an all-out effort, Panama's Sagrario Paniagua threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 83 minutes into the match, Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sagrario Paniagua narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Isidoro Sarmiento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Sagrario Paniagua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Panama played a much better game than CD Municipal and deserved their victory. The CD Municipal players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
