Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) In the 2nd minute, Cazimir Pătran reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-0. 6 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Leontin Racoviceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leontin Racoviceanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Petrică Chificeac came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Toader Spirache sent off a good shot on target. Cazimir Pătran who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Leontin Racoviceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play. Primitivo Andino made in the 27th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Felix Montenegro immediately put the ball in play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cazimir Pătran in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 32 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Leontin Racoviceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Cazimir Pătran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Cazimir Pătran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Pătran in the 38th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Damian Şerb to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Cazimir Pătran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cazimir Pătran in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cazimir Pătran might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cazimir Pătran ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cazimir Pătran during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Romania getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Cazimir Pătran hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cazimir Pătran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Şerb in the 67th minute of play. Cazimir Pătran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the game, Damian Şerb was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Romania's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 76th minute, Cazimir Pătran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Damian Şerb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Damian Şerb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cazimir Pătran went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. After 89 played minutes Romania got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Chificeac. 92 minutes into the match, Romania's Cazimir Pătran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, Romania could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
