Dalmo Saldanha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pascual Carballar went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Dalmo Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Chico de Sousa could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Pedro Manzanares however easily saved by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chico de Sousa got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ruy de Britos short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Pedro Manzanares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Chico de Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chico de Sousa in the 18th minute. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Chico de Sousa took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. Ruy de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chico de Sousas short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Pedro Manzanares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xu Li Sang went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. If Kevin Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Axel Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Axel Montenegro scored 2-3 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dalmo Saldanha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute, Axel Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jovens Democratas MZC were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ruy de Brito took the corner. The corner led Jovens Democratas MZC's Ruy de Brito to fire away a dangerous shot which Pedro Manzanares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Jovens Democratas MZC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Colombia were winning 2-3.

In the 52nd minute Durval de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Durval de Queirós in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 54th minute Xu Li Sang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abram Sarmiento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Dalmo Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Montenegro in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalmo Saldanha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 64th minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Jovens Democratas MZC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Colombia's Pascual Carballar getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Dalmo Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santino Seco in the 65th minute. David Puyol hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Jovens Democratas MZC's Marco van Basten was substituted for Durval de Queirós. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. In the 69th minute, David Puyol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Mastache came free, but Dalmo Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abram Secada got free with Dalmo Saldanha in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco van Basten in the 93rd minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Jovens Democratas MZC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
