Anibal Jurgi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Anibal Jurgi quite easily take care of the ball. Eduardo Gomez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in PLUMAS's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anibal Jurgi came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 21 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Anibal Jurgi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Anibal Jurgi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

PLUMAS made a substitution. Bartolo Berart replaced Eduardo Gomez. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bartolo Berart made a kick off. The supporters of Ecuador booed when PLUMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Oinatz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Anibal Jurgi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute Bartolo Berart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolo Berart in the 93rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Anibal Jurgi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
