The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Panama booed when Uberlandia-DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cido Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José de Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José de Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. José de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Zé Augusto Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 11th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Cristo Videl capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristo Videl really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 23 played minutes, Uberlandia-DMZ's Samuel Pontes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uberlandia-DMZ reached it. 24 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Cristo Videl came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Augusto Duarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Cristo Videl's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristo Videl helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Uberlandia-DMZ's Cristo Videl got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 47th minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Uberlandia-DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Cido Pitta. Zé Augusto Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 52nd minute of the match. A collision led to Uberlandia-DMZ getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Pedro Paulo Bueno hit a great ball. Uberlandia-DMZ's Zé Augusto Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Uberlandia-DMZ from getting a goal against them. Zé Augusto Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Miralles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Augusto Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Miralles in the 68th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristo Videl in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In a very dangerous position, a player in Uberlandia-DMZ fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 71st minute. Penalty! Zé Augusto Duarte went to the wrong direction when Abraham Alguacil was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Zé Augusto Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Augusto Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 79th minute of play forced Uberlandia-DMZ's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Freitas came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Pedro Freitas made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 93 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Augusto Duarte. Uberlandia-DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Berganza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Zé Augusto Duarte in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 97th minute, Miguel Miralles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
