The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Narciso Zonta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute, Uberlandia-DMZ's Narciso Zonta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Zonta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Uberlandia-DMZ's Zé Augusto Duarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 16th minute of play. Aaron Barrios charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Barrios the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Freitas in the 20th minute. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Pedro Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cido Pitta hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Pedro Freitas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Freitas got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Uberlandia-DMZ booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Barrios didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Freitas in the 44th minute. Adhemar Nóbrega hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When Panama's Tomas Berganza in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uberlandia-DMZ's goalie prevented a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 51st minute of play forced Uberlandia-DMZ's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 54 minutes of play, Panama's Tomas Berganza made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Augusto Duarte was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zé Augusto Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 57th minute of the match. A collision led to Uberlandia-DMZ getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Cristo Videl hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Pedro Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. After 70 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Alex Cambeiro. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristo Videl, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Isidoro Sarmiento received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zé Augusto Duarte came out and tried to block the shot, but Isidoro Sarmiento slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 73rd minute. After a rather tough play, Panama's Aaron Barrios got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute of the match Samuel Pontes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zé Augusto Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 80th minute of the match. Dylan Sarmiento hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, Uberlandia-DMZ's Samuel Pontes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 84th minute Pedro Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85thth minute of the game Pedro Freitas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Uberlandia-DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Sarmiento came free, but Zé Augusto Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Felipe Ros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uberlandia-DMZ's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
