The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Uberlandia-DMZ booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Freitas got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 27th match minute, Uberlandia-DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Paulo Bueno to maneuver through the defense. After 28 played minutes, Panama's Abraham Alguacil shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zé Augusto Duarte came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Panama reached it. After a rather tough play, Uberlandia-DMZ's Narciso Zonta got a free kick in the 29th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Uberlandia-DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Cambeiro came free, but Zé Augusto Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Uberlandia-DMZ getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Cido Pitta hit a great ball. In the 38th minute of the match Abraham Alguacil sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Augusto Duarte skillfully saved the ball. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uberlandia-DMZ's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Duarte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Freitas got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 47 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidoro Sarmiento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristo Videl, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After a rather tough play, Uberlandia-DMZ's Adhemar Nóbrega got a free kick in the 60th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Cristo Videl came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 75 minutes into the game, Aaron Barrios was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uberlandia-DMZ the free kick. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Aaron Barrios hit a great ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Samuel Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uberlandia-DMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Pontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Panama were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Uberlandia-DMZ to leave the ground with a draw.
