Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lucas Barcelos started the match with the kick off. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Lucas Barcelos scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Primitivo Andino made in the 14th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Felix Montenegro. C A U's Feliberto Gonsalvo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Lucas Barcelos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to C A U getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Rodolfo Cordarin hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Feliberto Gonsalvo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Feliberto Gonsalvo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Feliberto Gonsalvo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Sebastián Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute of the game Primitivo Andino made a throw-in which Felix Montenegro played forward. The crowd rose to their feet as Nico González kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucas Barcelos in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to C A U getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Nazar Colombo hit a great ball. C A U's Feliberto Gonsalvo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

C A U's Eliseo Hurko was substituted for Candido Firmo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Barcelos in the 54th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Feliberto Gonsalvo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 61st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Feliberto Gonsalvo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Sebastián Puig in the 65th minute of play. Daniel Zorita did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Feliberto Gonsalvo 68 minutes into the match. Feliberto Gonsalvo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute. After 75 minutes, Eliseo Hurko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C A U and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, Eliseo Hurko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Feliberto Gonsalvo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. C A U's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of C A U's goalie and right to Luis Andino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. C A U's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jorge Nahia took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Feliberto Gonsalvo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The audience was convinced that Jorge Nahia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Jorge Nahia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The C A U support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
