In the 11th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gavra Parezanović fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 14 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Obano came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Obano struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salta Futbol Club. In the 26thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salta Futbol Club's Jimeno Teodor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes, Salta Futbol Club's Rodolfo Vergílio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Salta Futbol Club reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 30th minute of play forced Salta Futbol Club's goalkeeper Jimeno Teodor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Fabian Obano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Gavra Parezanović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Jimeno Teodor. Salta Futbol Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 56 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Obano came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodolfo Vergílio's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Vergílio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Salta Futbol Club getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Rodolfo Vergílio hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Obano, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Salta Futbol Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stéphane Le Thiec in the 66th minute. A very nice done corner allowed Leonardo Ricart to score against Jonathan Ferrant in Venezuela's goal. 2-2 after 66 minutes. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Obano in the 70th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavra Parezanović in the 73rd minute of play. Gavra Parezanović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Salta Futbol Club booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Jimeno Teodor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
