No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Oskitz Tendiero made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SAS's Walme Trillanes got a free kick in the 52nd minute. SAS's Guipuzkoa Velamines proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save SAS from getting a goal against them. 55 minutes into the match, SAS's goalkeeper Guipuzkoa Velamines had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximiliano Escribano. In the 56th minute of the match, Francisco Seco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Guipuzkoa Velamines was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A throw-in in the 60th minute of the game was made by Arturo Carvallo with Jaime Cazalla as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Oskitz Tendiero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. The supporters of Uruguay booed when SAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Malet didn't get a good kick on the ball. SAS's Guipuzkoa Velamines proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save SAS from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, SAS's Guipuzkoa Velamines got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caetano Esquide hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Guipuzkoa Velamines dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Guipuzkoa Velamines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, SAS could leave the field as winners, despite Uruguay having more of the ball for most of the match.
