Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Salta Futbol Club's Fabian Obano started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes Salta Futbol Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Jimeno Teodor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabian Obano in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 20th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jimeno Teodor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 26th minute. Salta Futbol Club's Stéphane Le Thiec shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 27th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. 28 minutes into the match, Salta Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Jimeno Teodor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Obano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jimeno Teodor having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Obano in the 51st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Obano in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Jimeno Teodor in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Vergílio in the 60th minute of play. Julio Vera didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Salta Futbol Club's Fabian Obano shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Jimeno Teodor made a huge save. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavra Parezanović in the 79th minute of play. Jimeno Teodor was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stéphane Le Thiec kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Vergílio during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Maxim De Mayer kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Salta Futbol Club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
