After 20 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Stéphane Le Thiec who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Maxim De Mayer to score against Thiago Pliego in Chile's goal. 1-2 after 20 minutes. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Fabian Obano put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Thiago Pliego. Jimeno Teodor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jimeno Teodor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salta Futbol Club's goalkeeper Jimeno Teodor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mariano Lacasa in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jimeno Teodor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Chile's Orlando Casaus got a free kick in the 60th minute. Jimeno Teodor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 66th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jimeno Teodor was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 76th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 92 minutes, Thiago Pliego successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 93 played minutes Salta Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Vergílio. Chile's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
