In the 93rd minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Gorri in the 95th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Garrapatita Futbol's Teo Acosta got a free kick in the 96th minute. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
