Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Guilherme Guedes in the 28th minute of play. Vila Nova GO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cafu Branco in the 29th minute. A collision led to Vila Nova GO getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Luís Guilherme Guedes hit a great ball. Celsinho Capixaba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Daniel Marquez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 42nd minute, Vila Nova GO's João Vítor Souto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Celsinho Capixaba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Guedes in the 78th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Vila Nova GO's corner Daniel Marquez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Daniel Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila Nova GO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute Daniel Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Vila Nova GO's Daniel Marquez in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celsinho Capixaba having to make a save. João Vítor Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Vila Nova GO players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
