The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Cauan Lopez sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. 32 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Cauan Lopez came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jardim Natal's Wilton Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 35th minute of play. Telmo Pinho lost his temper 37 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Daniel Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Jardim Natal had played much better football throughout.
