Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 9 minutes of play, Coyotes's Luciano Pancho made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luciano Pancho in the 12th minute. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Natalio Baleren kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 38 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Pancho came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute Luciano Pancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leandro Bernat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Axel Tasis struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Leandro Bernat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luciano Pancho made a kick off. If Natalio Baleren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 55 minutes into the game, Hugo Ferrant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coyotes the free kick. In the 55th minute, Hugo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Pancho in the 60th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Coyotes's Leandro Bernat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Coyotes from getting a goal against them. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Veronica, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Cordera in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute, Natalio Baleren made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Pancho in the 78th minute of the match. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Guillerme in the 91st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luciano Pancho took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. There was no doubt that Coyotes were the better team. Coyotes's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
