When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Serginho Leão took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serginho Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Serginho Leão charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serginho Leão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th match minute, C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serginho Leão to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Betinho Moura saved C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. from getting behind. Serginho Leão got his second yellow card in the match during the 35th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Serginho Leão hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Betinho Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sid Lampard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Secada didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes in the game, Patricio Costa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Betinho Moura having to interfere. In the 91st minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Betinho Moura despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 95th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betinho Moura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
