In the 24th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Lorien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albano Timo in the 27th minute of play. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victoriano Iraunkor in the 32nd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iuri Barral in the 43rd minute of the match. When Godfredo Elazar fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pitman FC's protests and gave Godfredo Elazar a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Peru booed when Pitman FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Elazar didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victoriano Iraunkor was the one to do the kick off. Marcos Lorien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 54th minute of play.
