Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Efrain Evis's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Efrain Evis made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Pitman FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Fabio-Roman Cordoba hit a great ball. Mano Bland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Efrain Evis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The supporters of Pitman FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamin Sanchez did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Julio Vera 78 minutes into the match. Efrain Evis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Antonio Arias lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! 89 minutes into the match, Pitman FC's Efrain Evis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Efrain Evis got free with Julio Vera in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle went the supporters of Pitman FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ecuador side.
