In the 43rd minute of the match MICE F.C. got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Panos Kavaliaratos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Christos Perivolakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 44th minute of play. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Dimitris Skondras sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 54th minute of play forced MICE F.C.'s goalkeeper Christos Perivolakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Dimitris Skondras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the match, MICE F.C.'s John Asklund sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. MICE F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Felix Montenegro scored to the left of an out of position Christos Perivolakis, making the score, 1-1. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Christos Perivolakis threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. MICE F.C.'s Christos Perivolakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of MICE F.C. booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitris Skondras came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, MICE F.C.'s goalkeeper Christos Perivolakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. MICE F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 85th minute, one of MICE F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for MICE F.C.. When the match had been going on for 87 minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Christos Perivolakis. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dimitris Skondras during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dimitris Skondras kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 99 minutes into the match, Dimitris Skondras had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dimitris Skondras was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
