After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Nestor Harkaitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Nestor Harkaitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ildefonso Iraunkor went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 29 minutes into the match, 【E ➣VERON 11's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Benjamin Edur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamin Edur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Benjamin Edur despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Ildefonso Iraunkor capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ildefonso Iraunkor to make the kick off. Benjamin Edur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute of play. Ildefonso Iraunkor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. 【E ➣VERON 11's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by János Pálosi in the 56th minute. The corner led 【E ➣VERON 11's János Pálosi to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Harkaitz in the 58th minute of play. Benjamin Edur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
