Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Albert Freitag came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. John Olofsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Gabriel Hasselqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Olofsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of play forced IF Älgarna's goalkeeper Albert Freitag to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, IF Älgarna's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jonny Månsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 22nd minute of play forced IF Älgarna's goalkeeper Albert Freitag to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonny Månsson in the 24th minute of play. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Jonny Månsson sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The supporters of IF Älgarna booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonny Månsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as IF Älgarna's John Olofsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-1 after 35 minutes of play. Albert Freitag showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Jonny Månsson took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonny Månsson to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Jonny Månsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albert Freitag didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Joshua Secada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Albert Freitag having to make a save. Albert Freitag showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Olofsson in the 85th minute of play.
