Juventus Telford's Boruc Spychalski got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 66th minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Juventus Telford's Luizinho Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 69th minute of play. In the 73rd match minute, Juventus Telford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ildefonso Piarres to maneuver through the defense. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Juventus Telford were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
