Higinio Aguilera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milagros Fraga in the 5th minute of the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fábio Rocha in the 7th minute of play. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Fábio Rocha's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. 8 minutes into the game, Luís Fábio Rocha lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Rolando Noboa. After a rather tough play, Peru's Alonso Berganza got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Luís Fábio Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Hijos de Doña Beija's protests and gave Luís Fábio Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Fábio Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Rocha scored 2-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Los Hijos de Doña Beija's zone, Eliseo Mina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Aguilera came out of the goal and Eliseo Mina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Fábio Rocha struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Hijos de Doña Beija. A very nice done corner allowed Eliseo Mina to score against Higinio Aguilera in Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goal. 2-1 after 43 minutes. Higinio Aguilera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milagros Fraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Los Hijos de Doña Beija made a substitution. Indiana Jones replaced Luís Fábio Rocha. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Jyrki Sillanpää was substituted for Argi Casta. The wind increased when Indiana Jones made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Indiana Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Indiana Jones in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. After 64 minutes of play, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Indiana Jones made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 67 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Higinio Aguilera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Higinio Aguilera had in the 75thth minute some difficulties stopping Luz Tejedor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Demy Ottens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Adan Inge was substituted for Demy Ottens. Indiana Jones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 83rd minute of play forced Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goalkeeper Higinio Aguilera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Indiana Jones scored 4-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 93rd minute of play. Higinio Aguilera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Gallo in the 96th minute. Peru's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
