Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Claudinei Custódio kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play forced October 04's goalkeeper Eskil Vester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eskil Vester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Emilio Cascajares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilio Cascajares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Cascajares in the 35th minute of play. Eskil Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Emilio Cascajares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Emilio Cascajares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after October 04's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of October 04's goalie and right to Felix Montes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. October 04's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emilio Cascajares to make the kick off. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by October 04's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Pran Labitte made in the 64th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Cascajares in the 70th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. October 04's Luís Paulo Pernambucano was substituted for Claudinei Custódio. October 04's Waldemar de Sena was substituted for Aníbal Correia. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Cascajares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Emilio Cascajares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. After 79 minutes, Fellipe Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the October 04 and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, October 04's Fellipe Valle got a free kick in the 79th minute. Emilio Cascajares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Cascajares, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Eskil Vester came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 96 minutes into the match, October 04's Emilio Cascajares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 97 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave October 04 the free kick. After 97 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
