With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelsinho Leite saved Vascogoianiense FC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matheus Neto during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vascogoianiense FC! In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nelsinho Leite. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelsinho Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aírton Sousa. Nelsinho Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nelsinho Leite. Vascogoianiense FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Dorian Quirino got a free kick in the 20th minute. Nelsinho Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of the match. Aírton Sousa charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aírton Sousa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Aírton Sousa got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Vascogoianiense FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nelsinho Leite quite easily take care of the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, João Pirani recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. João Pirani showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aírton Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Vascogoianiense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Nelsinho Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 minutes Vascogoianiense FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nelsinho Leite in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pirani in the 41st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Pirani stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The player immediately received a yellow card. 51 minutes into the game, one of Ecuador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Aírton Sousa:s penalty. 52 minutes into the game, Aírton Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, João Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Pirani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Vascogoianiense FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nelsinho Leite. The Vascogoianiense FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nelsinho Leite should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Pirani's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. In the 76th minute, Agustín Saelices got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Nelsinho Leite made a huge save. In the 91st minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Nelsinho Leite. Vascogoianiense FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Monteiro in the 94th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vascogoianiense FC throughout the match.
